I went to Keyland 2025!

It was baby's first (and probably last unless some things get cheaper or location changes) k-pop concert and the opportunity to go to Keyland in Seattle on December 15th fell into my lap like it was meant to be! I've been a fan of Shinee since late 2016 and tbh they're the only group I care to keep up with anymore due to time constraints and general lack of interest with k-pop/stan culture so this whole event was a dream come true. My bias in the group actually came to an area i can travel to and it was decently affordable ticketing!? A near-christmas miracle. (my roommate came along for the ride too, also a big fan for a few years now)

Jennifer's Body (2009) (spoilers beyond)

This movie has been on my list for foreeeever and i picked it last night on a whim because my brain was spinning out lol WHAT A MOVIE I don't think I've liked a movie this much since like,, watching It in 2019ish??

It took me waaay too long to realize this wasn't a period piece shot in like 2017 because the quality of the movie was crazy good?? I had to double check the year when i saw the flip phone Needy was using. This movie is the most 2009 thing I've ever seen i can't believe I didn't realize it immediately.

The styling in this movie is top notch. This movie really felt like a snapshot of what teenagers dressed like back then, from the emo kids down to Needy's thick-framed glasses. The scene with everyone wearing black in the school hall because they're mourning so many deaths while Jennifer rocks down the hall in a heart-printed pink crop zip up? Actually iconic.

The movie actually had me caring about the characters too, I was still hoping half way through the movie that Jennifer was in there somewhere, just fused with some demon, so the big reveal actually had me sad. I was sad to see Chip die too because he and Needy were actually a cute couple too 😭 they would have had to put me in the grippy socks ward too if i lost my bf and my gf at the same time and the discovered i had some demonic powers leftover 😔

I've heard it's a queer staple film for a while and i now i can totally see why. That make out scene (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄) but also the way miss not-Jennifer is obsessed with Needy's attention?? ok girl.

The dime-a-dozen early aughts emo band being satanic cultists was just the cherry on top to an already pretty fantastic movie.

Hello all! You can call me Thread. I use she/they and I'm a ditzy nerd that just really likes to read and write. I have many interests i will talk about in passing here which may include: sci-fi or action shows and movies, anime and manga (too many to list but some current favorites are Apothecary Diaries, Yona of the Dawn, Tokyo Babylon), old video games and jrpgs, and lots of other shows and movies and books beyond these too. I'm also trying to pick up embroidery, study computers (casually, mind you) and am learning to play the piano!

I'm aiming for this blog to be a place where i can jot down oc ideas, ramble about this and that, and post the occasional fanfic so that's probably what you'll see the most here. I'm trying to shake off the old livejournal rust and get back into the habit of writing after years of doing exactly not that so here's hoping lol

this is a ship and let ship space and terfs are not welcome here. Otherwise i'm sure we'll get along just fine (´ ∀ ` *)
